I am not an AI robot.
After many professional detours in Switzerland and Japan, I now work in my studio in Gümligen/Muri near Bern.
Here, I can not only create illustrations (analogue or digital), but also have enough space to hold drawing courses for up to 12 people.
I love fantasy, but as an urban sketcher I am just as rooted in the mundane present.
With my pictures, I try to tell or hint at stories, and a pinch of humour is a must whenever possible.
For over 30 years, I have also been studying Chinese calligraphy and calligraphic art, which I learned in Japan.
Today, I try to pass on the art of calligraphy (Shodo) as authentically as possible in private lessons, open studios and lectures.
Since 2017, I have been living with my family on the Sense river in Laupen near Bern, which also led to the studio name illustration sense.
